Funk, Favela Funk and, elsewhere in the world, Baile Funk, is a type of dance music originally from Rio de Janeiro, later spread in different subgenres across other brazilians states. The music style is a fusion derived from Miami Bass and electronic music, mixed often with brazilian percussions (Tamborzão), samples and heavy bass, having explicit lyrics about social problems, sex and hustling. In Brazil it is most often simply known as Funk, although it is very different musically from what Funk means in most other places. Read more on Last.fm.
